Stage Struck was founded in 1999 by Tracey Ray and has continued to grow so that it now boasts over 100 pupils! We pride ourselves on our friendly, personal service, tailor making lessons around the needs of our pupils. Our teacher pupil ratios are 1:8, maintaining our high standards of teaching and pupil care.
About The Teachers

Mrs Tracey Ray(ALCM, LLCM (TD), BA (HONS), PCGT, QTS- holds the Associateship of the London College of Music and their Licentiate Teachers’ Diploma, in Speech & Drama. She also gained a B A Honours degree with the Open University in 1998, this being a Literature based degree. She has taught Speech & Drama privately for 27 years and spent six years as Speech & Drama teacher at the local St Catherine’s Preparatory School. Tracey is also a fully qualified primary teacher. Tracey set up Stage Struck Speech & Drama School in September ’99, which now operates six classes, offering Speech & Drama lessons to children of 4 to 16 years in both Compstall and Bramhall. A further four ‘senior’ classes are held in Marple for 16-18 year olds or children already at medal standard. Tracey is currently the Speech & Drama teacher at Pownall Hall School in Wilmslow. Tracey is a busy member of local amateur dramatic societies, being involved in acting, directing and front of house. She will be appearing in Entertaining Angels at Stockport Garrick in September and directed ‘Lord Arthur Savile’s Crime’ for Woodley Players, last October. Tracey has a sixteen year old daughter, Annaliesa and a thirteen year old son, Duncan. Over the past nine years Tracey has directed ten productions for Stage Struck which have raised in total over £17,000-
Associate Teachers:
* Mrs Kath Holmes (ALAM) teaches at all sessions in Compstall. She holds the LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) Associate Diploma for Acting (with honours) and is an experienced actress and director, well known to many of our local amateur dramatic societies. Kath has won countless trophies at Speech & Drama festivals and has run her own ‘drama for fun’ classes locally for many years. Kath has three ‘grown up’ children and a granddaughter.
* Miss Faye Orford (BA Hons, LLB) holds the LAMDA gold medal in Verse & Prose Recital and has studied speech & drama since kindergarten! Now working as a solicitor, Faye still manages to find time to teach our 11-16 year olds at Stage Struck, Compstall on Thursdays has tutored at all our workshops since 2003! Faye helped direct ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’ in 2010 and our most recent production, ‘Shaking Up Shakespeare’ which was held at the Art Theatre, New Mills in March this year.
*Miss Annaliesa Ray holds the LONDON COLLEGE OF MUSIC Grade 8 examination in Speech & Drama (gold equivalent) and is preparing to take her diploma next year. She has been studying Speech & Drama for the last 12 years and has been involved in all of the Stage Struck productions over the years. An A’Level student at Cheadle Hulme School, Annaliesa assists at the Bramhall classes and the later two classes in Compstall. Annaliesa is also an active member of Woodley Players and Romiley Operatics Society, having appeared in several of their productions.
* Mrs Jean Ray (Cert Ed.) is an experienced primary and secondary teacher who has tutored at our workshops in the past and been involved with our productions. Jean teaches at our fourth class in Compstall and will also provide sickness or holiday cover as required for both centres.
*Miss Katherine Hallam – holds grade 7 (silver equivalent) in Speech & Drama with the London College Of Music. Katherine has been studying speech and drama since she was tiny as her grandmother was a speech and drama teacher (and the lady I studied with from the ages of 9 to 16!) Katherine has been tutoring at our Compstall classes for most of 11/12 academic year and has previously worked as a swimming coach. Katherine helped with our big production in March and is hoping to finish her Speech & Drama studies and take her diploma over the coming year.
*Miss Lucy Price – Lucy is has studied Speech & Drama since the age of 7 and is currently making final preparations to take her Silver Medal in the LAMDA examinations. Lucy assisted at our Christmas workshop last year and will be acting as an assistant tutor in the last two classes held in Compstall. Lucy is in her final year of A’levels at Cheadle Hulme School.
*Mr Ben Wilson holds the P Cert LAM diploma in Speech and Drama (awarded by the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) which he gained with distinction. Ben worked as a junior teacher with our 7 to 16 year olds on Thursdays before heading off to Huddersfield University to study Drama for his degree. Ben has helped and been involved in countless productions and even came back from University in March, specifically to help with our production of ‘Shaking Up Shakespeare.’A talented actor, Ben took the lead role of ‘Toad’ for Woodley Player’s production of ‘Toad Of Toad Hall. Ben currently acts as a tutor at our Stage Struck workshops.
